Fort Worth-based GCG Marketing has announced the addition of Crystal Cardwell as
account executive. Cardwell most recently served as client services manager for
Studios 121, where she directed marketing initiatives, event coordination and
business development. A graduate of the School for Film and TV
in New York, she also has worked in Hollywood producing independent movies for Perles Films. She is on the board of the American Advertising Federation – Fort Worth. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||

PRSA local update III: Is there a leader in the house? PRSA’s Southwest District will host a one-day QuickStart workshop Friday, July 2,2 in
Arlington for members in Texas, Oklahoma, Arkansas, Louisiana, Kansas and New
Mexico who are interested in serving on PRSA boards at a chapter, district or
national level. The workshop will cover volunteer management, financials,
bylaws, Robert’s Rules of Order, non-dues revenue generation and other issues relating to
nonprofit board management. More information to come.

advertising/sales, event planning, graphic design, marketing, and corporate and
employee communications throughout North Texas. Employers who are members of
the participating organizations may post a job listing for $50; the cost for
nonmembers is $75. Nonprofits get a 50 percent discount. Each posting runs
three weeks. Greater Fort Worth PRSA receives a portion of the proceeds when a
member marks his or her membership status on the submission form. More from

Weatherford ISD communications director and SPJ member Derik Moore writes that Decatur luminaries Roy and Jeannine Eaton received the 2011 Tom Mooney Award at the North and East Texas Press
Association conference in April. Moore also did a session there on school
districts communicating with print media, and, lo, there was Tommy Thomason in the crowd; Thomason was Derik’s first journalism teacher at TCU in the 1980s. Moore created the WISD’s iPhone app (630 downloads in 21 days) and would be happy to help you make an app, too. E-
